Aqua-Health Range Chlorine
Aqua-Health Range Chlorine Super 700
Calcium Hypochlorite, Chlorine Super 700 is an in organic compound with formula Ca(CIO)2. It is the preferred disinfectant for application, effective, convenient, and cheaper to use. Ca(CIO)2 is commonly used to sanitizer swimming pools and
water disinfection.
HOW IT WORKS
Aqua-health Chlorine Super 700, Ca(CIO)2 reacts with water to form hypochlorous acid, HOCI and it will partly expires to Hypochlorite ions, OCI-. Then, hypochlorous acid and hypochlorite ions will form free chlorine when bond together. Chlorine kills pathogens by by exchange enzymes or protein in bacterial cell surface.
When chlorine contact with enzymes, hydrogen atoms in the molecule are replaced by chorine. When enzymes do not function well, bacteria will die. This result disinfection. Hypochlorous acid penetrate the slime layers, cell walls and protective layers of pathogenic microorganism which negative charges, and kills pathogens effectively.
Super 900 Chlorinating Tablets
Super 900 Chlorinating Tablets is made up of organic compound known as Trichloroisocyanuric Acid (TCCA). Its utilization in swimming pools and spas serves to furnish stable chlorine and consequently functions as disinfectant for an extended period of time.
HOW IT WORKS
TCCA reacts with pool water to produce Cyanuric Acid and Hypochlorous Acid
(HCIO). The HCIO produced from the reaction provides free chlorine to swimming pools for disinfectant purposes. Cyanuric Acid serves as stabilizer to minimise chlorine loss from direct ultraviolet ray exposure.
ADVANTAGES
CHLORINE
Chlorine is one of the most commonly used disinfectants for water disinfection and easily available from the marketplace
It comes in three forms which liquid, granular and tablet.
Each varying in strength and efficiency when placed under direct sunlight. Chlorine can be applied for the deactivation of most microorganisms and it is relatively cheap. It has been used for applications, such as the deactivation of pathogens in drinking water, swimming pool water and wastewater, for the disinfection of household areas and for textile bleaching.
Chlorine is quickly consumed because the following factors are commonly found present in the water
- Presence of Bacteria
- Presence of Algae
- Organic matter such as leaves, twigs, grass
- Organic by-products such as human or animal sweat and waste
- Sunlight
- Increase water temperature and evaporation
- Mechanical energy from moving water such as fountains and water features
